How can I help my husband cope with ulcerative colitis?

colitis
badgers96 asked:

Every time he has a flare up, I can see that it really bothers him. I would like to be able to offer him whatever support he needs, but I don’t always know how to do this without making him too uncomfortable. Plus, I don’t want to make too big a deal of it if he doesn’t want to talk about it. Anyone who struggles with this disease or who is involved with someone who has it and could offer me advice would be great.

I know someone who has it. What is it? How is it treated? What complications can arise from having colitis? How long does it last? Thanks in advance for your help. Please don’t answer unless you can give me any colitis-relevant information.

How do you know the difference between antibiotic side effects and colitis?

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007
colitis
waltyeagan87 asked:

So antibiotics can cause stomach cramps and loose stool which are also the symptoms of antibiotic induced colitis.

I have been having these symptoms for about three days now and have been off my antibiotic for three days now. How do I know when it could be a sign of something much worse like colitis?
