It isn't necessary Crohn's or any disease. If could just be an infection or a block. I would recommend eating light, and low fiber.

There is definitely not a cure for ulcerative colitis. I know probiotics are thought to help the disease by providing good bacteria but there is a lot that is still in question with the disease. Most agree that it is an auto immune disease that has the intestine attack itself. The cure is to have steriods suppress the immflamation and supress the immune system. I have heard of people getting rid of it (not sure about curing) by eating a natural diet. You can get a flare under control by eating bland foods. I've heard of people just drinking gatorade for a week to stop a flare up. Read "The Maker's Diet" to get an idea how what you eat can effect your diet.

Infection can cause inflammation of the bowel (colitis), diverticulitis causes inflammation in the sigmoid colon (this is more common in older adults).
Did you get a diagnosis? If not ask your doctor what the inflammation means in the context of your case.

I suggest reading the book patient heal thyself

top one

the authors healed himself of chrohn and went to dozens of doctors in many countries and spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to heal himself. His dad was even a naturopath...eventually he healed himself and the book tells how and you can see his before and after pictures here

My other suggestion is to do the full incurables save your life program by Dr Richard Schulz which had success. People with digestive ailments like crohn's and colitis omit the intestinal cleanse #1 and go straight to the intestinal cleanse #2 when doing the full incurables.

Email me and I will send you the links to the manual and 12 videos that detail so much. they are no longer in print and originally cost $435 dollars. Someone put them up for me to refer sick people too but I do not publicly post the link due to the interviewer of Schulze sending cease and desist letter to people getting them removed as he no longer makes money on it I guess so email me this. There is no easy cure for incurable illnesses..a simple supplement will not generally help most people but a comprehensive, lifestyle change will and then some

more on Schulze here
and the incurables program
(especially #5)

his website is here
?&c=1

his products are sold here
scroll down to incurables program in the search by products at the left side of the page

You can learn how to make many of his formulas yourself to save money in his 700 page manual and his videos of the save your life program--email me for the links

contrary to what doctors and others say, there are no incurable illnesses..also be sure any herbs you take are in the form of tinctures (or teas is ok as well) and are organic or wildcrafted for best results as capsules are rarely absorbable and conventional herbs are several times less potent.

My dog suffers from IBS (irritable bowel syndrom)
We went round & round with "colitis" -Flagyl & baytril meds
I got tired of meds, every and her being sick all the time. So we started seeing a holistic vet in addition to my regular vet.

I ended up putting her on a raw diet. I swear she is 5 years younger.
We started cleaning out her system with cooked ground turkey & pumpkin. Then gradually reduced the pumpkin and added "Companion" turkey. Gradually eliminating the cooked turkey. It's not as gross as you would think. It's not raw chicken legs or anything like that. The food in processed & comes frozen in a bucket. She loves the stuff.
See:
It's been six months -she's doing great running & playing again.
Good Luck

Having lived with UC for many years, I have found that when there's stool or gas in the lower bowel or rectum it puts pressure on the bladder and stimulates bladder contractons. In fact, when I need to have a BM I rarely feel bowel urgency, only urinary urgency.

treatments are the same as in the US. And even if the 1rst answer is correct dont worry, medications are cheap in france, so even if you are not covered by some health insurance it would cost you only a few bucks . just know that most pharmacies will give you corticosteroids without prescriptions if you can explain them you already know why you are taking them. pharmacies are often closed on saturday afternoon and definately closed on sunday ( except for the ones that are on duty ... generally 1 per district)
So if you bring your own medications, and run out of them, dont freak out.. Even if you show up at a doctors office it will cost you 20 euros and he may very well give you free samples of the drug you need.
