I know probiotics are thought to help the disease by providing good bacteria but there is a lot that is still in question with the disease. Most agree that it is an auto immune disease that has the intestine attack itself. The cure is to have steriods suppress the immflamation and supress the immune system. I have heard of people getting rid of it (not sure about curing) by eating a natural diet. You can get a flare under control by eating bland foods. I've heard of people just drinking gatorade for a week to stop a flare up. Read "The Maker's Diet" to get an idea how what you eat can effect your diet. We started cleaning out her system with cooked ground turkey & pumpkin. Then gradually reduced the pumpkin and added "Companion" turkey. Gradually eliminating the cooked turkey. It's not as gross as you would think. It's not raw chicken legs or anything like that. The food in processed & comes frozen in a bucket. She loves the stuff.
