How do we know Hitler had Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
Kelly A asked:
“Hitler’s health has long been the subject of debate. He has variously been said to have suffered from irritable bowel syndrome, skin lesions, irregular heartbeat, Parkinson’s disease, syphilis, and a strongly suggested addiction to methamphetamine.”

Did he complain of constipation and bloating or what?

There is often a connection between gut symptoms and mental health problems, and it is possible that both the evil genius of Hitler, and the insanities and abnormalities in the ideologies of his Third Reich, stemmed from this his abnormal mental status.
In other words, World War 2 can be considered to be a direct result of gastrointestinal ill health!
How does gastrointestinal health affect the mind some much? Well, a lot of digestive problems result from low level viral infection. The type of viruses that often infect the gut are called “respiratory, gastrointestinal and neurological viruses”. As their name suggest, these viruses can attack the gut, the respiratory tract, and the brain - hence the brain malfunction.
Another way gut problems can lead to mental state changes is through the proliferation of bacteria in the gut that release toxins into the blood; many of these toxins can act directly on the brain, significantly altering brain function.

If he had Parkinson’s as they say he did, the he definitely had a lot of Gastro Intestinal problems. Severe constipation, IBS, GERD and almost anything else that could be imagined are an integral part of Parkinson’s disease…heart problems would not be a supprise……I would have doped myself silly back then because of the lack of any real medication for PD
