What OTC pain reliever is the safest to use for a headache during a colitis flare-up?
Nonamenickername asked:
I think I am having a colitis flare-up. I haven’t had a colonoscopy yet, but I have rectal bleeding.
I know that I should stay AWAY from ibuprofen (Advil) and probably should also stay away from aspirin.
Is it safe to take paracetamol/acetaminophen (Tylenol)?

Tylenol is the safest option because it does not cause bleeding like aspirin and other NSAIDs.

I have microscopic colitis, and any NSAID can bring on symptoms. I avoid the all except tylenol.

When I have flair ups I find the best thing for getting things under control is meditation and yoga. After 7 surgeries it is the one thing that helps me the most.
